Our summer vacation this year took us to Banff & Jasper in Alberta. I still have more photos to upload, but this will get the gallery started.

Kelly Grimm > The Columbia Icefield and glacier. We took a "snowbus" up on to the glacier. It was a fun trip. A snowbus is barely visible on the left side of the glacier.

Kelly Grimm > In the foreground of the this photo is a placard which reads "1844". This indicates where the toe of the glacier reached back then. As you can see, the glacier has receded quite a ways (over a kilometer) since then. Note the small avalanche at the right side of the photo.
